  1. Numerous BSoD errors

    Hello guys, first timer here,

Couple of months ago I bought a computer from a friend, was his old one. First thing I did when I turned this new PC on is make sure everything was up to date, apps and all. Only new things I installed were 2 games, both on Steam (7 Days to Die and XCOM:TFTD). I didn't use this new one very much for the first couple months, and now I'm using it about every day, and randomly, at different times, just about every time I use it, I get many different BSOD errors. I've had 10 different ones, also have done lots of googling/researching to see what could be the problem. I've done everything within my knowledge to fix the issues, but nothing has managed to cease the BSOD errors. Id love if someone could possibly help me out.

According to my googling, just about all of these have a possibility of being an outdated driver, but it can't be that, as I've not only manually gone through the list and made sure all were updated (also deleted a bunch of old ones no longer needed), but also used a third-party program to double check that their all updated, and from what I can tell, their all up to date. A lot of times they also mention that it could be anti-virus, my buddy who gave me the computer is allowing me to use his Bitdefender account to protect the PC. I've no idea if this could be the cause, but at this point, I'm willing to try anything.

I've also ran chkdsk, didn't seem to fix anything. Also, randomly when my PC boots up, it sits at a black screen with the Windows logo(which is normal), for several minutes (not normal), and says stuff at the bottom of the screen along the lines of "working on repair". This all happens randomly, with no consistency. Sometimes I'm playing a game on Steam, sometimes I'm browsing Internet, and sometimes I'm literally shutting down the PC for the night or restarting it to apply an update, and before it does that it crashes with one of the numerous BsoD errors I keep getting. Ran out of ideas, other than completely reinstalling my OS (which a lot of other people said didn't have any affect). I have a basic knowledge of PCs, but not by any means an expert. I've done what I thought might help, but still getting these errors.

Specs: Windows 10 Home (latest version 2004) Processor: AMD FX-8350 8-Core processor 4.00GHz 8GB RAM System type 64-bit, x64-based processor I also have plenty of free space in my storage. 39.8GB (out of 111) of free space on my local disk, and 695GB of free space on my main disk (out of 931GB). The 111GB disk is a Samsung SSD 840 EVO.

    ————————————

Error codes (in order as they occurred):

Clock watchdog timeout Service system exception System thread exception not handled DPC watchdog violation whea uncorrectable error System service exception Special pool detected memory corruption

    (DRIVER)IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL Win32kfull.sys Ntfs.sys

(This one above ^ had two versions, back to back. First one was the IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, then after that, it gave me DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, and this is also the only one to give me an error code? Whatever that stuff is after the stop code (hope I'm getting these terms right), the ntfs and win32k stuff. iirc the DRIVER one had the stop code, but the other one didn't have a stop code).

Kernel security check failure (most recent one I got)

    ———————————

Few days ago I was looking at the Properties of my disks, and noticed that the SSD one has "File System: NTFS" under the General tab. Could this pertain to the error code above about Driver not less or equal?

Ive removed all underscores, as that is a way to format on Reddit and makes my post look even worse than it already does. As you can see, I seem to have my hands full. Sorry for the wall of text, I'm on mobile. I appreciate any help I can get!

    Edit: formatting.

  2. BSOD on numerous servers

We have recently begun to get BSOD errors on numerous servers thoughout our estate. Each BSOD results in the following error Operating System failure (Windows bug check, STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF800DD4B28AD, 0xFFFFD000D3BD1848,
    0xFFFFD000D3BD1060))

We have tried disabling SMBv1 & 2 and also disabling TCP offloading as these have been some of the suggestions we have found whilst trawling the internet looking for an explanation

    BSOD - Registry Error

    Your BSOD code is 0X000000051

Here's the Google search I did for it: https://www.google.com/search?q=0x0...j5.399j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8

There is a hotfix available that might help, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/810558

This thread makes a few good suggestions too: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-hel...dows-7-pro-sp1-registry-error-0x00000051.html

+1 to listing your full system specs, OS version, etc. I did only look at your BSOD log file.

Run a Diskchk /R (I know you already ran one, so you can skip this)

    Run SFC /SCANNOW

    Report back.

    Getting BSOD 0x124 error

    Ignore what everone said here.

0x124 BSOD is usually related to VCCIO (VTT), run Prime95 version 26.6 with custom sizes of 512K to 640K with 50% of your memory for at least 8 hours.

If you get a 0x124 BSOD, increase VCCIO voltage by small steps, run Prime95 again until your stable.

If you pass Prime95 512K to 640K without a BSOD, then its Vcore too low. I'd suggest running IntelBurnTest with 80% of your memory to verify stability (8 to 12 hours).

Oh, and yeah, if this problem appeared all of the sudden, the reason is CPU degradation, you can prevent it by enabling C-States or adjust your overclock to use lower voltages.
