Windows 10: numlock numbers and key and "c" key not working

at first the "c" key does not work then it intermittently works where if you press shift+ c it produces a capital letter c or when you press any other letter with c it will work.now it does not work completely and numbers on numeric key does not worki typed all the c on this letter using the on-screen keyboard.

down arrow key stopped working

My razor lycosa down arrow key decided to not respond at some point today. The other ones work and so does the numpad arrow if i turn off the numlock. Sounds like its just broken and im screwed, but any suggestions?

 

How to enable NumLock key in Windows 10

Neither the registry hacks or holding down the NumLock key at startup works for me; as previously stated, the only thing that does work - with my system configuration - is to shut off fast start up. In order to do so, here are the steps again in case you
missed it:

1. Go to the Control Panel (right click on Start button and choose "Control Panel" or press the "Win-x" keys to get to the same menu and choose Control Panel.)

2. Click on the "System and Security" setting and then click on the "Change what the power buttons do" option under the Power Options heading.

3. Click on the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link near the top of this window.

4. Under "Shutdown settings" uncheck the box in front of "Turn on fast startup (recommended)"

I have no idea what they put in the fast startup programming to cause the NumLock key to be disabled - and how it makes start up faster to actually take the time to disable the key after it has been enabled by the BIOS I don't know, either - but turning
off it off will make the NumLock key remain activated. I hope it works for you, too, Janedgc.

Thank you Holly for this suggestion. I tried it and it didn't work for me. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've given up. I just turn off manually the number lock button each morning. Huguette

 

Decimal key (.) in number pad does not work

Hi, all.

My computer is a laptop, HP envy, with Windows 10.

The decimal key on my keypad/number pad stopped working all of a sudden (nothing happens when I press that key).

• Problem is the same on any number of programs, be it this browser (Edge), MS Excel, MS Word, Notepad, etc...
• "NumLock" key is on;
• All the other number pad keys work as usual (all numbers and operators, for example);
• The setting that controls the mouse with the number pad is off;
• The problem is the same whether I try it on my laptop keyboard, or on my Logitech keyboard (plugged in with a USB receiver), or on the on-screen keyboard - the decimal (.) key in the number pad does not work;
• The period closer to the letter "M" works fine (that's how I've been able to use it in this post, for example)
• My keyboard language is set correctly, to "English (United States)", as it has always been.
• I've actually tried changing the keyboard language to another one (such as Spanish and Portuguese), and the problem is still the same - the decimal (.) key in the number pad does not work;

I've read some 10 forums that had the same questions, but all of them were unhelpful. At least half related to the "NumLock" being off, some meandered into the control panel settings, into the mouse control settings, and a good many did not have a clear
answer.

Can somebody help?
