Windows 10: Numpad lock getting disabled all the time

I am so pissed and annoyed with the behavior of my HP notebook. This model doesn't have an LED to indicate if the Numpad is activated or not. It's extremely frustrating how often it's getting disabled at start-up, it's hell.


I know there is a setting in the BIOS, it's set so the Numpad is activated upon start (I might have to doublecheck it though, just in case). Windows 10 also has registry keys to set Numpad to active on start-up, I set all these keys (current user, etc.) to "80000002", which means Numpad active.


And yet, time and time again the pest goes back to being deactivated.


I also set a vbscript that runs on start-up and sets the status of Numpad to active. None of this is working!!

At times it works, but it's not consistent. It's most definitely a Windows issue.



I just noticed that some start-up program or setting is disabling the Numpad on start-up. I noticed this when as soon as the computer started, before it had loaded everything, I opened Notepad and tested the Numpad, it was working. Then after Windows loaded a few more things, it disabled the Numpad.


Any ideas what could fix this? I'm so frustrated with this notebook, it's hell.

Numpad on windows phone 8.1 lockscreen changed to regular keypad, unable to get back the numpad

Until yesterday I used to unlock my phone using a 6 digit pin. While on the lock screen I used to get the 10-digit numpad for entering the pin.

recently I had to configure exchange on the phone and the numpad pad in lock screen does not appear anymore.instead I get a full-blown keypad.

I've deleted the exchange account from the phone, rebooted it, but I still can't seem to get back the numpad.

Any suggestions?

 

Since update numpad doesn't work properly anymore

Good evening,

On a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop, since a Windows10 update two days ago (version 1511, OS 10586.104), my numpad has gone nuts.

For example :

• key 2 writes 72, locks caps and opens a Bing search for "help with windows 10"
• key 3 writes *3wc
• key / writes /4 and triggers a menu for alternative screens
• etc...

Here is what I already attempted :

• uninstall and reinstall keyboard
• add an alternative language keyboard
• check "ease of access" options
• try the numpad in the BIOS : it works fine
• try the numpad in safe mode, now read this : it worked fine ! I restarted in normal mode and the keyboard worked fine also for a minute or so. Then it went crazy again. Now it doesn't work in safe mode anymore.

Any suggestion welcome,
