Windows 10: nvidia Control Panel - "Application is not compatable with installed NVIDIA Driver"

...So what version IS compatible?Device Manager lists the nvidia 680M with driver 302.92 and no errors.same hardware, same win10 OS, same nvidia card ALL working many years without issue.uninstalled the current nvidia drivers but the PC is using the builtin intel HD Graphics anyway so what good is installing new nvidia drivers?so, installed ye ole nvidia driver 302.92 driver version 25.21.14.2531 because it use to work.that also did not fix anything.nvidia Control Panel will not open and there are no nvidia display options anymore.Device Manager sees the hardware, and nothing else does.

used to be so simple download everything from nvidia, but now MS have distribution of the nvidia control panel and everything is messed up

when i auto updated my driver through geforce experience, it then said the CP was missing, so just downloaded it from MS ( after i got round the" you dont have an internet connection" problem now it says

what do i do ? W10 fully up to date......what a mess

What exactly do you use Nividia Control Panel for? If these are settings that can be made in Windows Display settings, I would leave Nvidia CP out as it's bloatware unless you have specific purpose for it (and always has been, app or not).

Nvidia Control Panel

nVidia software is available from nVidia, not from Microsoft.

There is an "NVIDIA Control Panel" app in the Microsoft Store (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/nvidia-control-panel/9nf8h0h7wmlt?activetab=pivot:overviewtab),
but not only is that app produced by nVidia, it's only for Windows 10 version 17134.0 or higher (and you asked your question in the Windows 7 forum).

The nVidia Control Panel ought to be included with the nVidia driver available from your computer manufacturer's web site. If you have a custom-built computer, see

If there's a problem with the file you downloaded, ask your computer manufacturer or nVidia (whoever you downloaded it from) for help.
