Windows 10: NVIDIA GeForce 920M adapter hidden in Device Manager.

Here is what I mean by hidden:




First I tried:

-I tried to update the driver but nothing happened.


Then I triedAfter reading some solutions on the internet:

-I tried to run NVIDIA services in Services.msc but I was missing some so I deleted NVIDIA drivers the dirty waymanually finding all files and deleting themand after that I restarted my computer and got all the NVIDIA drivers back but still had the same problems.


So then I tried this:

-I uninstalled the drivers but when I tried to reinstall it just gave me the error that my hardware isn't compatible and this installer isn't for my Windows 10 however I had the installer for 64-bit Windows 10 which is correct.

Note: Before trying the installation I removed all NVIDIA drivers through DDU and I tried the installation in Safe Mode.​

Also the NVIDIA control panel doesn't respond when opened through control panel and my NVIDIA Display Containerthe one in the context menu is missing.


So once after all drivers were goneand won't restore cause this time I deleted them with DDU and wouldn't reinstall I did a System Restore to the time before I discovered the problem. I got my old NVIDIA GeForce 920M drivers backVer 321.25 but I still have the same problems.


My Laptop is the kind which has the most rare, 1/10000000 probability problems like before I had a internet driver problem and tried everything I could and found on the internet but nothing got fixed so I upgraded to Windows 10. I am not computer illiterate and so I usually can fix most problems by myself but this one is a hard nut to crack.


Note: This is not the usual problem like many other on Microsoft Forums so don't flag this as duplicate, I tried every solution I found on Microsoft Forums but none worked and were closed so I posted my own.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 Display Adapter is suddenly hidden in device manager

This graphics card is still installed, and is working (somewhat), because one of my two monitors attached is still working. The card has been installed on my Dell 8700 with Windows 10 since last November. Everything seemed fine until yesterday afternoon,
when I decided to upgrade my NVIDIA drivers from version 361.43 to 361.91. after that was completed, with no obvious errors, upon rebooting Windows, I had only one monitor working, and the NVIDIA GeForce Experience app no longer recognized that the card is
installed. That was when I looked at device manager, and found that there was no display adapter listed, until I did a View/show hidden devices.

Oddly, I then saw both a nonexistant NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 and my NVIDIA GeForce GTX950 were listed. I uninstalled the 645, and restarted Windows hoping that might resolve the issue, but it did not - the GTX 950 is still 'hidden'.

The other thing that happened yesterday, earlier in the morning, was a Windows update KB3140743. Because that was a suspicious coincidence, I uninstalled that as well, and rebooted again, but still no resolution.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I suppose the card may have failed suddenly, but this seems more like a Windows 10 problem.

This can be due to the NVIDIA drivers that still needs to be installed. To be better understand your concern, we'd like to know the following:

• If you've already tried activating the Show hidden devices option in the View tab of Device Manager.
  
• If you were able to use the graphics card prior to your concern.
• The last activities performed on your device prior to your concern.
• The version and build of Windows 10 that you're using on your device. To check this, you can perform the steps posted on this

That was when I looked at device manager, and found that there was no display adapter listed, until I did a View/show hidden devices.

Was there a Device error code?
