Windows 10: nvidia geforce gt240m not recognized by windows 10

just done a clean installation of windows 10. windows 10 sees the display as microsoft basic display driver and refuses to recognize the nvidia geforce gt240m card. tried drivers from nvidia but they won't install at all. tried to disable the display adaptor in device manager and uninstall it but nothing changed. thing is that the card hasn't changed and ran windows 7 ok then upgraded to windows 10 ok but won't work on a clean installtion of windows 10. any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Nvidia GeForce graphic card
driver from the manufacturer website and check, if it works. Refer to the following steps to uninstall the
Nvidia GeForce graphic card driver from the Device Manager.



a. Click on Windows key + X key and then, select Device Manager.

b. Locate and expand “Display Adaptor” in the Device Manager Window.

c. Right-click on the “Display Adaptor” and click on “uninstall" the
Nvidia GeForce graphic card driver.

d. Restart the computer and check, if it works.

Windows 10 and Nvidia Geforce Go 6150

So I recently upgraded my hp dv9417cl to windows 10. The laptop has a NVidia Geforce Go 6150 graphics card that at this moment isnt recognized by windows 10. Ive tried manually downloading the drivers from nvidia and cannot get them to install. Please
tell me there is a way to get my graphics card working with windows 10. The resolution that comes with the windows basic display adapter combined with higher end screen(at the time it was manufactured obviously) really is blurry and oversized and not crisp
at all? Any suggestions or alternative solutions?

 

Win 10 Support for NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Maybe it worked now with Sony, but not with my Windows 7 Dell Vostro 370 for which Dell says "not compatible with Windows 10, do NOT upgrade".

On techspot.com you can read:

Exceptions for Notebooks:

• Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology are not supported (Nvidia Optimus technology is supported).
• The following Sony VAIO notebooks are included in the Verde notebook program: Sony VAIO F Series with Nvidia GeForce 310M, GeForce GT 330M, GeForce GT 425M, GeForce GT 520M or GeForce GT 540M. Other Sony VAIO notebooks are not included (please contact Sony
  for driver support).
• Fujitsu notebooks are not included (Fujitsu Siemens notebooks are included).

NVIDIA site also says new GT330M driver can be used only with PCs not using Intel Hybrid power technology (case with my Dell laptop).

So, if NVIDIA and MS can't provide any Windows 10 compatible drivers for GT330M, is there anybody who could do it???
