So i was playing a game and out of no where my computer crashed and gets a blue screen with the error code: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR

I tried resetting my whole laptop and that didnt even work I am so frustrated. It is the Dell XPS 17 9700 and this happens a week when i bought it??? I hate dell and will never buy another dell laptop ever again, switching to macbook pro if this doesn't get resolved asap.

    :)

New GPU (1070), display is black, and windows wont load after driver update

I have i7 6700 cpu, I just bought a new GPU (GTX 1070) and installed it.

Everything seem to be ok, the led on the GPU is fine but when I plug the monitor to it it wont display anything...

(I have Asus H170M-Plus motherboard if it helps)

What I tried based on the internet:

    • Update BIOS
    • Changed the setting on the motherboard to "Main Display - PCIE" (When I do that, the BIOS just ignore this and put "CPU" back in...)
    • using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall the previous GPU (the built-in one, didn't have a gpu before on this machine) driver.
    • installed the current drivers from nvidia site.
    • Checked if everything is connected correctly
    • Removing the GPU and putting it back (to confirm it is placed correctly)

When I install the Nvidia drivers btw, when it completes, I press restart and windows wont load at all, so I go to safe-mode and again using DDU to uninstall the driver..

    So, what am I missing?

    Thanks in advance.

    (Windows 10)

By the way, I have 700W, so power is not the problem

    Windows 10 Nvidia/Geforce completely disappeared

OK So I installed windows 10 right before I had to leave for several weeks work related. When I came back my screen started flickering until puff suddenly its gone... My HDMI cable was plugged into the HDMI port of my Nvidia GTX 660 to my screen.

That didn't work anymore, I now have to plug in my HDMI into the motherboard HDMI port to even get a picture... My Nvidia control panel is gone and it is listing my Intel HD Graphics 4000 or so as GPU. My device manager shows only the Intel graphics card
and not my Nvidia. I searched for days until Windows said it had to update again and it installed three or four Nvidia display adapter drivers. My Nvidia reappeared after the Windows installation for two days... ... Until, while playing video games, the games
crashed and the notifications said something like "graphics driver stopped responding".

Now I didn't have this problem with Windows 8.1... But you guys installed Windows 10 on my system automatically... Now I am stuck with this OS that makes my GPU disappear...

What I tried: Recover Desktop to an earlier date, GPU still gone

Uninstall Intel Graphics card: Now it shows the Microsoft Basic Display Driver as my GPU... (with 4000 Mb memory...)

No matter what: I cannot install the Nvidia drivers from their website or any other website as my computer since this update doesn't list my Nvidia GPU in device manager and neither anywhere else, do not tell me to download it from their website, it just
tells me "no Nvidia hardware on this computer"

Had two different Microsoft tech guys take control of my computer to no avail... This is ridiculous. I either want my money back from my GPU as your product made it disappear or you let me reinstall Windows 8 and get rid of this garbage. The main reason
I bought my Alienware was to play video games, and I CANNOT DO THAT NOW...

GPU not detected by Windows after 1903 update

    Hey there,

I got a message saying that 1803 won't be supported anymore so I updated against my own will because Windows wouldn't even let me postpone it.

After that, my GPU disappeared from Device Manager under "Display Devices". NVIDIA drivers won't detect it saying there's no GeForce hardware.

Laptop MSI GE72VR 7RF Apache Pro with GTX 1060 6GB.

    Symptoms

+ GeForce Experience says "NVIDIA GeForce Experience requires an NVIDIA GPU".

+ Installing drivers manually didn't work either "this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware".

+ GPU not listed under "Display Devices" on Device Manager.

    What I've tried already

+ Rollback to previous Windows 10 version: my GPU is listed under "Display Devices" but only if I enable the "show hidden" feature. If I go to properties, it says that my GPU is not connected. I tried updating drivers from there but didn't work at all.

+ Disabling "Intel HD Graphics" device on Device Manager and connecting via HDMI to a TV, didn't recognize the GPU and didn't give any video image.

+ Restoring UEFI firmware settings to default from BIOS (there's no GPU option on BIOS).

+ Tried to restore Windows (there's a restore option in Control Panel) which would re-install it from zero without losing my data, but for some reason in the last steps it says is not possible and stops the process.

+ Neither old or new NVIDIA drivers, MSI drivers or even GeForce Experience would recognize my GPU so I can't install them.

    Any ideas?

Thanks nvidia gpu completely disappeared and the drivers wont even reinstall? also not showing in bios :)
