NVIDIA GPU Driver not compatible with Windows 10 version Causes sudden black-screen

    Hello,

I recently have this problem about my computer. Sudden black-screen occurs whenever I turn-on my PC before or after the system boot-up. Sometimes whenever I'm playing video games. I have researched in the internet on how to fix this issue, I have tried it all and I still got sudden black-screen when I turn my PC back on and off or restart it. The last thing I did was I uninstalled my GPU Driver and install it again and the Error says: "NVIDIA GPU Driver is not compatible with the Windows version". I keep on resetting my PC to reinstall windows but still, the error exists and I keep on getting that black screen of death.

My recent Windows update version was 2004. and my latest GPU Driver version is 451.67

I hope you can help me with this problem.

    Thanks!

    :)

    Windows 10 nVidia Driver Question

With the Nov Update, Windows 10 became mature enough to give another try. Build 10586 (version 1511) runs great, feels snappy, and has no obvious problems. However, I'm concerned with this version's insistence on loading nVidia's 353.54 driver, which is dated July 13 2015, 4 months ago. On their US website they list all the new drivers as being compatible with Windows 10, (such as 358.91), but they won't load (installer says incompatible with this version of Windows, could find no compatible hardware...). The 353.54 driver runs games without any problems, but why is it taking so long to for nVidia to update this driver? Is it my 780 Ti that's incompatible or is it Windows 10?

Windows 10 1809 and Nvidia GPU compatibility

    - Regarding the BSOD, have a look at ...

Post the compressed mini-dmp file to a file sharing site, and paste the link in your next post.

"I found that there were commonly issues between Nvidia GPU drivers and cards overall and Windows 10. "

    - Urban\Internet myth, particularly with recent series Nvidia. I've had no issues with any of three Nvidia gpu series (GTX700, 900

& 1000 series ) I've run on Win10 since the first public release prior to v1511.

Doesn't matter Hardware, or software. Nvidia\AMD\Intel. People commonly have problems with the lot.

If you were using an AMD gpu that statement would be a bit closer to accurate. They did have some early driver issues, but only

in the first few months of the release of Win10, and not with all AMD gpu's

(I've also been using an AMD HD7970 since a few months after Win10 release and it's had no issues.)

Whatever the problem, it's nothing to do with compatibility. Your GTX 1050ti is fully compatible with v1809 and will be compatible for,

I would expect at least another five years.

    - However, the 362.00 driver in the link above goes back to 2016. A bit dated... I am currently using the 419.35 Nvidia driver, but

will update to the newest driver version once I have done the v1903 update (I update gpu drivers after each Win10 version update).

    - Prevent Windows Updates from stuffing around with your drivers....

    - In general, if a game crashes after 30\60 min. the drivers are not the issue (some potential of conflicting with other drivers though).

Have you monitored the gpu and cpu temps under load to rule out heat (The new GPU-Z also has a cpu temp monitor) ?

GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility

"So now i have removed my GPU since apparently it has caused me all this trouble"

    - If the card is faulty (if this problem has been from the start it may have been out of the box), under powered,

or the driver install is corrupt (but would likely cause crashes at or soon after launching), yes the gpu may be the source.

Otherwise, it's more likely a conflict with a Service or Software\driver running in the background, or another bit of hardware.

    - Another potential concern with your system regarding compatibly is the motherboard\cpu. They did the 2016 BIOS update, which can be important regarding using a newer series gpu, and they may have detmined at that time that Win10 specific drivers for the
    motherboard

were not necessary ? 1809 may have changed that ?

The mobo was released in 2012 and due to lack of solid driver support, may be starting to become less compatible with

newer versions of Win10 over time.

    - Your GTX 1050ti has fairly low recommended power supply requirement of only 300W, but if the power supply is original and has

had a lot of use under gaming load it may not be delivering steady, or enough power to the gpu.

"apparently there's issues with Windows 10 and dual monitor. "

    - Doesn't seem much worse than Win7 in general. If there is a new problem it may be more to do with the greater variety of

screens people are using than was common prior to Win10. Mixed combinations of hardware eg- Monitor\TV\Tablet, running different resolutions up to 4K. Two similar screens that are always enabled would cause fewer issues as well.

MS have introduced fixes\tweaks, both for multi and single screen, in regard to scaling in several of the version updates. They will

no doubt be doing more. Mixed connectivity seems to be something MS is focused on with Win10.

NVIDIA GPU Driver not compatible with Windows 10 version Causes sudden black-screen

nvidia geforce 341.02 driver causes black screen

I am also having the same problem, ie. black screen. I am using an alienware M11x laptop and Geforce nvidia 342.01 driver. (Until now I couldnt find a solution)For the past 1 month, I have been looking for a solution in the internet and havent found one, although there are varieties of solutions have been offered and I have tried all those solutions, but none works on my laptop. Most of them suggest to reboot to safe mode, and after that use DDU to uninstall and clean all Nvidia driver related files in the system, and perform a custom install of the driver (Perform Clean Install). I have done that and once it is finished installing the driver, it reboots and there it goes again, BLACK SCREEN. Now I am using the standard Intel HD driver, very standard one.Appreciate any info to solve this. Thanks.
