  1. Nvidia physx properties

I noticed in the control panel ‘large icons’ view there are two entries for nvidia. One for nvidia control panel and one for physx properties. The physx icon is missing, just a blank sheet. And if clicked it opens nothing, I forget the message about something missing that comes up. It’s almost as if it’s been removed / left over from old drivers (they always update with every feature update). Currently I run a 980ti on 385.69 drivers which seem to be great and rock solid. My question is are the physx properties purely taken care of within nvidia control panel now? I see a section for physx if I open nvidia control panel

    :)

  3. Windows 10 is getting stuck when enabling GPU (Nvidia 410m)

    Hello!

I have notebook Lenovo b570e with two GPU:

    - Integrated Intel

    - Nvidia GeForce 410m

    I use Windows 10 (enterprise) 64 bit

When I'm enabling Nvidia GeForce 410m in windows device manager then os is stucks/hangs/freezes and only hard reboot helps (long press on a power button).

After some attempts I realized that the problem is in hardware acceleration (PhysX).

Previously I disabled PhysX by using this tutorial (Disabling NVIDIA Physx GPU acceleration | NVIDIA) and
GPU was enabled, everyting worked fine, but after some Windows 10 updates the problem is back.

After Windows 10 updates the Nvidia GPU and PhysX were enabled, and Windows 10 stucked on startup, so I disabled Nvidia GPU in safe mode.

This problem didn't occure on Windows 8.X and Ubuntu 16.04.

I use last nvidia drivers (382.53)

How can I disable hardware acceleration (PhysX) in Windows 10?

    Thank you!

p.s. I already tried "Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) " to completely uninstall AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers and packages from your system,
    it didn't help.

  5. Thank you. Yes that’s what I’m referring to. Next to that I have the PhysX properties ‘paper sheet’ generic icon that does nothing. As everything seems to work well I’ll leave it alone but I was concerned as to whether I am missing something important. I get the impression everything is now rolled up in nvidia control panel. I don’t go in for that GeForce experience stuff so having just the control panel to meet all functions/needs suits me. I’ll continue to trust (!) windows update and feature updates to update the gpu driver periodically as so far it’s not caused any issues

    cheers, Wayne

I suggest uninstalling the GPU driver then use Driver Sweeper to find and delete old video driver files https://www.guru3d.com/content-page/...r-sweeper.html

Then reinstall the latest NVidia GPU driver. Note some old games require a legacy PhysX driver to be installed.

I only have what @Dude has. I don't have a PhysX properties in the Control Panel. I have them in the Nvidia Control Panel. You can look in the uninstall a program and see if PhysX is installed. if it is, it should be fine, I would think.

    Hi,
I thought MS was removing the old control panel screen so nobody gets confused by all those listings *Smile

  10. Does yours even do anything? I’m not at my machine but it throws up an error/message about something being missing. I think all the physx stuff is now all controlled within nvidia control panel so this link/entry is redundant but just didn’t get cleaned / removed during the last driver update (during the feature update install). I haven’t had any notable issues so I am just going to ignore it.
