Windows 10: nvlddmkm creashes

I've been experiencing crashes when using my computer. Oddly enough, it doesn't happen when I play games, leading me to believe it is not a temperature issue. I did an RMA request on my GPU and am still experiencing the issue with the replacement. My PC is an SFF PC so I suspect it might be the PCI 4.0 raiser cable connecting the GPU to the motherboard. I am awaiting a replacement from the Case manufacturer but I am scared it might not be the culprit. GTX 780 Win 15063 4K Display Nvlddmkm Error


Hi all,

I have a GTX 780 with dual screens, one being an Asus PB27Q inch 4K. I get tearing, Firefox crashes, Nvlddmkm Error.

I'm trying to find the right driver for this type of card and I can't get the finger on it.

Any suggestions?

Getting nvlddmkm error in event viewer, game crashing

1) Run Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
At least 8 runs

2) run administrative command prompt:
sfc /scannow
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
chkdsk /x /f /r
For the chkdsk it will require a reboot and may take many hours. Plan to run it overnight.
To view the chkdsk results run administrative command prompt or powershell: get-winevent -FilterHashTable @{logname="Application"; id="1001"}| ?{$_.providername –match "wininit"} | fl timecreated, message | out-file Desktop\CHKDSKResults.txt

Let us know the results of each study.

To resolve the "Display Driver nvlddmkm Stopped Responding While Gaming" issue, try the following steps:

1. Update the GPU drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's website.
   
2. Update the motherboard chipset drivers to the latest version.
   
3. Check the power supply unit (PSU) and ensure it is providing enough power to the GPU.
   
4. Run a stress test on the GPU using tools such as FurMark to check for overheating or other issues with the GPU.
   
5. Check the temperature of the GPU while playing games and ensure it is not overheating. If necessary, clean the GPU's fan and heatsink.
   
6. If the issue persists, try removing and reseating the GPU, as well as testing it in another slot.
   
7. If the issue is still not resolved, consider replacing the GPU or reaching out to the manufacturer for further support.
