Windows 10: nvlddmkm.sys VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

Hi Guys,

I have an EVGA 1060 card that is crashing Windows about a minute after start up with a VIDEO_TDR_ERROR. I have a 960 as well and don't have any problems with it. The 1060 boots up fine and once I'm into windows, about a minute later the system crashes no blue screen and reboots itself, usually the card doesn't output anything. I tried checking thermals on the card but it doesn't seem to be heating up. I have a new 650W PSU from EVGA so I don't think it's a power problem and I tried booting into safe mode but it still crashed there as well. I have the most up to date driver installed. Tried putting it in a different PC but it doesn't even seem to recognize the card. Attached the dump files and the WhoCrashed report. Glad to provide any extra info. Thanks in advanced for help.

My laptop became unusable, starting the laptop only resulted in a black screen at log-in screen. If the laptop went past the login screen, then the result was a fully pixelated screen followed by a blue screen


VIDEO_TDR_ERROR or VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR.Igdkmd64.sys errors.

Connecting an external tv via HDMI cable still gave the same results.

Tried f2 diagnosis. nothing found

Tried System recovery = factory reset. goes to two options flickers to black screen, sticks on blank black screen.

What driver versions have you tried currently for your graphics?
If it is the newest version, 361.43, try rolling back the drivers.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
   • Double click the executable to open it
   • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window
