NVMe SSD Not Detected During Windows 11 Installation on ASUS ProArt X670E Creator WiFi

Hi,I’ve been trying to install Windows 11 on my new PC build, but I’m running into a frustrating issue where my Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is recognized in BIOS, but not detected during the Windows 11 installation process. I’ve tried a number of troubleshooting steps, but I’m still stuck. Here's a detailed overview of the situation and what I’ve done so far:System ConfigurationMotherboard: ASUS ProArt X670E Creator WiFiProcessor: AMD Ryzen 9 7900XSSD: Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD 2TBWindows Installation Media: Windows 11 USB installation drive GPT, UEFISymptomsBIOS: The SSD

  2. Upgrade Windows 7 on SSD NVMe to Windows 10 on SSD NVMe

    Hi Varnium,

    Thanks for updating me.

Usually, you can install Windows 10 on SSD NVme directly if your computer BIOS detects it.

You can try the following steps if your computer detects the SSD NVme:

1-After creating a Windows 10 bootable USB and going through the installation process. From the Installation page "Install Now", press F10 to open the Command Prompt.

2-Type these commands and hit enter:

    diskpart

    list disk

select disk X (Replace X with your SSD NVme number shown in the list above)

    clean

3-Restart your computer and go through the installation process.

If your computer does not detect it or the BIOS detects it, but you cannot see it during the installation process, it is best to contact your computer manufacturer's support services to provide you with accurate information about configuring BIOS.

    Here are similar cases:

Note: Make sure you can find all Windows 10 compatible drivers for your computer from manufacturer's official website and your computer fully supports Windows 10 before taking further actions.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you need further assistance.

  4. NVMe SSD Not Detected During Windows 11 Installation on ASUS ProArt X670E Creator WiFi

Windows 10 installer don't detect NVMe drive

    I have 2 drives:

    • disk1 (SATA SSD, with Ubuntu 16.04)
      • partition1 (sda1: flag /boot)
      • partition2 (sda2: flag /home, encrypted by LUKS)
    • disk2 (NVMe SSD)

So, the goal is to install Windows 10 on disk2 and boot it from GRUB (which is on sda1).

    What is the problem ?

In disk-choose step, disk2 is missing. However Ubuntu 14.04 installer "see" this disk, so I assume that is software issue, rather than my hardware.

What I tried to solve this problem ?

    • loaded Samsung NVMe drivers from this thread
    • patched Windows image using DISM tool by adding 2 updates. I followed this guide
    • tried to run Windows 10 installed on USB stick to install it

    All of them failed.

Please help me to solve this issue.
