    NVMe to HDD to NVMe


    Instead of cloning, I have a 512gb nvme ssd, I want to upgrade, could I flash a clean install to my HDD, from https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/clean-install-windows-10-11-2023/1c426bdf-79b1-4d42-be93-17378d93e587 then remove my old SSD, put my new one in, then flash it over to the new SSD for quicker booting?

    cloning hdd to NVMe m.2

    if i clone my hdd to a nvme m.2 using something like macrium will windows use the right driver for nvme on boot or would i need to reinstall to get correct drivers

    Hi, I'm Mario, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

    We are sorry about what happened.

    The best option is that you also install the operating system on this nvme.

    There is no point in having the games running on nvme and the operating system on a HDD.

    Thus I suggest that the operating system is in the nvme and the games on another storage device.

    If your nvme has plenty of space, even better to have everything on it, ok?

    Will I lose dual-booting if I clone HDD to NVMe using Macrium?

    NavyLCDR - interesting suggestion - connect the NVMe drive before running the steps in the amazing article I linked to? Just to see that the 7010 (in each of Win 10 and Win 7 booting from the HDD) recognizes the NVMe for storage purposes, and that therefore each Win has the drivers for the Samsung NVMe? I like it.
