Windows 10: Oct. 2022 Defender update triggers on a text file

Hi All,I have a javascript source file which I've been distributing to customers, unchanged, since 2011. No problems until now. But suddenly the October 2022 Windows Defender update triggers on the file, and my customers can't copy it from one folder to another, or use it as an "include" file in other scripts. This is causing a mad scramble on my side, as my customers worldwide report that my software suddenly stopped working.Thanks, Microsoft.What's up with this? The file is 8026 bytes of pure 7-bit ASCII text. It contains no binary anything anywhere. Thanks.

Need solution for automating transferring of files to flash drives

I am wary of jumping straight in at the deep end so I have a couple of questions.

1 How do you know which files to copy to which memory stick? Can you put a list for each one in a text file?
2 Are you free to give each memory stick a specific label so that it can be detected in order to trigger the specific list that you have written for that memory stick?

I do have a batch file procedure for identifying the drive letter currently being used for a given external drive label. So perhaps you could trigger a common batch file that
Step 1 - checks each drive in turn to read its label and then find its current drive letter
Step 2 - for each detected drive, look up the list given in the batch file to identify which [if any] text file to look in to find the files to copy to that memory stick.
Step 3 - copies the files listed in the relevant text file

Windows Defender issues with schedule task(Triggers)

I understand you are facing issues with Windows defender. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Do you have any other triggers in the Windows Defender Scheduled Scan> Trigger tab?

If yes, you may delete them and check.

Schedule a scan in Microsoft Defender Antivirus

You may follow the below steps to check the time set for automatic maintenance.

1. In the search option of the taskbar type "Change Automatic maintenance settings" and press enter.

2. Now if you want the scan to take place at 2:00 Am, set the desired time from the drop down list.

3. Click on Ok.

Now check if the scan takes place at the set time.

You may also follow the below steps to update the defender definitions and check if it helps.

1. In the search option of the taskbar type "windows defender" and press enter.

2. Click on the update tab.

3. Click on update definitions and check.
