Windows 10: Odd 6 second delay when saving files to my C drive Intermittent

I noticed this issue when I was hunting images on Google using Google Chrome, I would find an image, right click the image and select save image. The dialogue box opens to select location and when I select desktop and hit OK there is a strange out of place delay. If I attempt to click to a new tab, off screen or basically do ANYTHING at all, I hear a Harp like sound from Windows indicating a process in progress and the new command cannot be done. After about 6 seconds, the file downloads. Often but not always the file will not show up on my desktop and I have to manually refresh my desktop to

Unable to save files too second hard drive

To anyone who can help me . No matter what I try I cannot seem to save individual files too my second hard drive " D"

everytime I create a .doc or xls file or alter an existing file I cannot save it to this hard drive at all . I have gotten into properties too check access for administrator and users and all have full access , it just doesn't seem to work

Help most frustrating , it will let me save stuff to " C" drive but this is a small solid state drive as compared to the second hard drive "D"

This could be due to the incorrect user information used. You may want to try the steps listed below and check if it works for you:

• Open Word 2016, and navigate to
  File > Account.
  
• Sign out of all the accounts under User Information.
  
• Restart Office, navigate to
  File > Account.
  
• Sign In to use the work email for user information.
  
• Now, try saving the Office documents to the mapped drive.

Directing data to a second drive ?

To direct data to a second drive I thought you opened File Explorer > This PC > then right clicked (for example) Music > Properties and changed the Location.

However I can also open File Explorer > This PC > then left click Documents which displays Music along with other the folders.
1) If I right click the Documents folder & change the Location, will that also change the Music & other folders listed within Documents?
2) Why are the Music & other folders listed in Documents when they are already listed under This PC?
File Explorer also shows Music under Quick Access. That’s 3 occurrences I’m looking at. Does it make a difference which one I use to change the Location?

Recently I came across this method which looks like it does the same thing, but does it?

Some online comments suggested creating a separate folder for each user account and make the new folders as subfolders of the user account folder. I am the only user. Is there some advantage of creating a user folder?

I've never used a second drive for storage & any suggestions would be appreciated.
