Odd Numbering on Attachments from Mail

I've seen this question asked a few times on the Microsoft answers site but nobody seemed to get a resolution: whenever I download an attachment from an email account using the Windows 10 Mail app, it automatically adds a string of numbers in square brackets to the file. For example, if the attachment shows as 'myfile.pdf', it will save as 'myfile[2324].pdf' or 'myfile[8632].pdf' or similar. But if I download the same file using the webmail site, there are no extra numbers.

Can anyone tell me why it's doing this?

    :)

    Hello Allan,

To attach a document file on an email, you can follow the step given below:

    For Windows 10 Mobile:

    • Launch to File Explorer app.
    • Press and hold the file that you need to attach on the email, and select
      Share
      button.
    • Select Outlook Mail on the suggested applications.

    For Windows Phone 8.1:

    • Download and install
      Files
      app.
    • Launch Files app.
    • Tap and hold the document that you need to attach on the email, and select
      Share
      button.
    • Select the Mail app on the suggested applications.

Feel free to post back if you have other queries.

I do not see/receive the odd attachments in Mail App.

Original Title: Mail App not showing some attachments.

    I am a brand new Surface Pro 4 / Windows 10 user.

I have setup the Mail App and all seems to be working OK but I do not see/receive the odd attachments (normal Office & PDF docs).

Is there anything specific that I need to configure to make this work seamlessly?

Is there is a limitation as to how docs might be attached to the email by the sender?

    Thanks

    D
