Odd system files located on the second HDD...

This is kinda an odd thing that happened to me...I noticed that some system files 2 folders named "System" and "System64" are locateed on my second drive 2TB Toshiba HDD although the OS is installed on the M.2 drive System32, Windows and other folders are located there. So my question is, can I move them to the M.2 drive, so that OS files would be located on the same drive ? Because at the moment, I can't boot my computer without having the HDD installed.PC Specs:Windows 10 Pro, Build 22H2Ryzen 3 3300XGTX 1660 Ti16GB DDR4 RAMStorage:M.2 Nvme SSD 256GB Adata - This is the drive where my

This is kinda an odd thing that happened to me...
I noticed that some system files (2 folders named "System" and "System64") are locateed on my second drive (2TB Toshiba HDD) although the OS is installed on the M.2 drive (System32, Windows and other folders are located there).
So my question is, can I move them to the M.2 drive, so that OS files would be located on the same drive ? Because at the moment, I can't boot my computer without having the HDD installed.

    PC Specs:

    • Windows 10 Pro, Build 22H2
    • Ryzen 3 3300X
    • GTX 1660 Ti
    • 16GB DDR4 RAM
    Storage:

    • M.2 Nvme SSD (256GB Adata) - This is the drive where my OS is installed
    • Toshiba 2TB HDD - This is the drive where those 2 folders are located ("System" and "System64")
If additional info is needed ask me, I'm looking forward to solve this problem.

  3. Odd system files located on the second HDD...

Hi, I’m Nicole, I’ll be happy to help you out today.

Try to copy and paste the System folder in C:\Windows\ then try to boot the system without the HDD. I'm a little skeptical about System64 folder since as far as I know there are only system32 and sysWOW64 folder on the Windows system files folder.

Just copy and paste the folder. Don't cut and paste just to be safe for now.

Report back the results here afterward.

    Thank you.

If you already deleted them and have no plans of reinstalling them, I guess you should permanently delete them by clicking on the folder and then pressing shift + del.

Do this for your peace of mind since unusual file folders tend to give the impression that the system is infected.
