OEM Apps after resetting windows 10

Hi, I recently wanted to factory reset my Asus-Vivobook-X505ZA to its factory conditions so I just used the windows 'reset' feature. It did reset my laptop but all the OEM apps were gone, it was more like a clean uninstall than the factory install.

I have a recovery partition in my hdd which came with the laptop and is about ~800 MB in size and about 500 MB occupied.

I have tried to search a lot of forums including this and I couldn't find the answer to the question which is can I restore the windows to factory settings windows + oem apps using the recovery partition.

PS - I can't boot into the asus recovery partition wizard with f9 key as suggested on some forums. But I think that is deprecated information and newer asus laptops doesn't have that.

Also, when I reseted windows, there were only two options - 1. Keep the files, 2. Remove Everything.
There was no option of 3. Restore to factory setting as shown in one asus forum thread.

    :)

my windows 10 oem didn't come with a product key

Dude, go to Newegg right now and read the questions and answers tab on Windows 10 OEM. The OEM copies that are listed there DO in fact, come on an optical disc. The flash drive ONLY comes on Retail copies.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

    Hi Brink

I have looked at the first method you suggested but Microsoft Edge is not featured in the Apps and Features List am I missing something?

If you haven't already, you might see if resetting Microsoft Edge may help fix it.
