Windows 10: OEM Win 10 Pro key not accepted by Win 11 Pro Insider Preview Virtual Machine

I'm running Linux on a HP EliteDesk 800 G3 with a Core i5 7400. Now I thought since there was an OEM Windows 10 Pro Licence bundled with the EliteDesk I could use this key to run Windows 11 Pro in a Virtual Machine kvm. After short search I found here in this community that it should be possible to activate a Win11pro with a Win10pro OEM key. As the idea is to tinker a bit around I then decided to download a Win11 Pro Insider Preview and installed it on the same EliteDesk via qemu/kvm in a virtual machine with an emulated TPM2.0, which worked fine. Upgrade a Win 10 home OEM to Win 10 Pro OEM with Win 10 Pro OEM Key?

I recently purchased a laptop that has an OEM version of Win 10 Home on it.

I verified this by using : slmgr -dli.

Previously I had purchased an OEM Win 10 Pro Key.

Can I use this OEM Win 10 Pro Key to upgrade the OEM Win 10 Home to the OEM Win 10 Pro.

If so what are the steps to accomplish this?

In addition, I assume that is this is possible, that the current product key will be updated to the new product key?

The reason I am asking this is that it's my understanding that these product keys are tied to the bios on a name brand laptop.

Transfer a Win 10 Pro licence to Win 11 on a virtual computer

I have Windows 10 Pro licence (retail, not OEM) on an old computer that does not meet requirements for upgrade to Win 11. The licence is linked to my Microsoft account.

I plan to discard the old computer and use the licence for a new virtual Windows machine. I want to utilize a free upgrade to Windows 11 Pro. The new virtual machine will be a fresh start, no transfer of stuff from the old computer.

I did a research about how to proceed, but still have two questions. My findings and questions:

1. The license is linked to my Microsoft account, which should allow me to install Windows in a virtual machine and activate it using the Activation troubleshooter. Is that correct?

2. Should I install Windows 10 Pro in the virtual machine, activate it and than upgrade to Windows 11 Pro? Or is it possible to install Windows 11 Pro right away and activate it using the Windows 10 Pro license?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

PDF Pro license gone when win 11 preview updates. Activation Key gone

After win 11 Win Pro preview build updates it deletes Activation Key and when I open PDF PRO it says need to be activated but will not accept License provided. Have to delete. PDF PRO program and reinstall to be able use it again until the next update.
