    off-line update using .msu files


    i downloaded a few .msu files so i can do an off-line update next time i install Windows 10. i created a batch file but when wusa.exe is called all i see is the help box as if its been run with the /?, /h or /help parameter. I hazard a guess its showing this as the program detects invalid parameters but i don't see what i am doing wrong..

    example line from my batch file:

    i will add /quiet once i know its working!

    UPDATE: i already have the above update installed. will that make a difference?

    Thanks! I see I can download an *.msu file now. Can I apply this from the command line (since I still can't boot into Windows proper)?

    Threshold 2 in win update catalog

    So for update to threshold 2 i should download iso file and upgrade windows , right ?

    in future MS will release a .MSU file for threshold 2 ? update with .msu is easier

    All you need to do is open the KBXXXXXXXX and it will run and install.

    yes i tried that and it does run and tells me its already installed but i want to run from a batch files as i have a group of updates to install in a particular order.

    an example i've seen on the internet use the following as an example:

    no difference to what i'm doing except from a .bat file.

    You only need the latest (newest) cumulative update to install all previous updates, belonging to a related build!
    That is what the word "cumulative" means.

    About the Flash Player update, you show as an example, in your post 1 - that is a stand alone update, and you will always need
    the newest one for Flash Player. Why not just install them manually, one by one? Then you are sure things are don right.
