Windows 10: Office 2013 not working with MS Word

I purchased Office 2013 from Amazon in 2015 It has worked fine on my desktop and notebook computers until recently. Now I get the message that it can't open Normal.dotm and a few other error messages that makes it impossible to open MS Word documents.

After trying to fix the problem on my own I decided to "repair" Office., The repair procedure says that I don't have Internet access - but I do. The repair without Internet access doesn't work either.

We're sorry we can't open **** because we found a problem with its contents.when allowing without internet access (that I do have) it asks that I allow closing some programs, which I allow. The response says "Done Repairing" yippee. But when I try to open a Word document I continue to get the error messages can't open Normal.dotm and a few other error messages.

How can I get my Office 2013 back?

None of this is working. With trepidation I uninstalled/reinstalled Office per instructions. MSFT was able to find my account and to do the reinstall. The message shows that Office was installed properly but still.get errors regarding inability to open Normal.dotm - then can't proceed except to close the program. I'll be happy to supply additional information or screen captures .as needed.
