    I would like to use MS Office 2013 on my laptop rather than Office 365. Can it be done?Microsoft Office gets about 87% done and returns the information that the system is not configured correctly to install. At that point, the app icons are visible in the Progarms list, but won't start.I have completely removed Office 365 using MS Support and Recovery Assistant and tried to install MS Office 2013 twice. The help screen MS offers is more about installing Office 365. I have tried Office 365 and would much rather use a PC base program that does not make me constantly have to tell it where to save

    Our IT department sent a note about home use (Office 365, specifically), and this warning:

    A suggestion... re-install Office 2010, then try to install 2013?

    What version of 2013 are you installing (Home, Pro, etc.), and how (CD?)?
    Office 2013 is supposed to work side-by-side with older versions.

    I can confirm that I have Office 2010 (32-bit) and Office 2013 (32-bit) installed side-by-side. You cannot mix and match 32-bit and 64-bit versions as far as I'm aware.

    OP can we get a pic of the error message? Also, do you have any old versions of Visio installed?
