Windows 10: Office 2016 activation failed

I am using Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 14295 on the slow ring.

I have purchased Office 2016 from Microsoft online through my education account and they have provided me a key to activate Office.

When I finish installing Office 2016, I get this image: https://i.imgur.com/zzzmjEX.png
I am under the impression that the center image should be showing something else, other than a windows into my desktop wallpaper

If I click repair now, Word restarts and I am presented with this: https://i.imgur.com/osLfSFq.png

Clicking repair now again, Word shuts off. If I click on a Word doc I am presented with: https://i.imgur.com/y4NKsyS.png

What is going on? What can I do?

Word won't start. It says it's unlicensed. I have just installed (and paid for!) Microsoft Office.

If Office activation fails, you'll see Unlicensed Product or Non-commercial use / Unlicensed Product in the title bar of your Office apps, and most features of Office are disabled. To restore all features of Office, you'll need to fix the problem that's
causing activation to fail.

When you get there, under Office Topic heading on the left, click the pointer and select Install, Upgrade and Activation.
