    Windows 10 Pro Same updates, Install Multiple times!

    I have a Windows 10 Pro workstation which has Office 365 Pro Plus 2016 installed. The system Info is below.

    Windows 10 Pro Info:

    Version = 1703

    Build = 15063.674

    Subscription Product

    Office 365 ProPlus 2016

    Version = 1705

    Build = 8201.2193 Click-To-Run

    Deferred Channel

    The question I have is why does the following two updates keep reinstalling successfully and how do I correct this?

    Why doesn't office 2016 automatically update itself in the regular windows updates....like it used to do.

    It does, if you set the correct option.

    Go to >Settings, >Windows Update, >Advanced Options, >Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows.

    This relies upon two factors:


    • There being an outstanding Windows update
    • You being on the correct channel of Office 365 (e.g. Current Channel, Deferred, First Release)

    Once Microsoft have declared it as being fit for purpose, i.e. Current Channel, it is pushed out in waves. Those who manually update will get it first.
