Windows 10: Office 2016 installation stuck "Finalizing Installation"

    Office 2016 installation stuck "Finalizing Installation"


    Microsoft Office 2016 won't finish installing, it has been stuck on "finalizing installation. This may take a few minutes" for over a half an hour now. the progress bar is about three quarters full and has been for more than a half an hour. I googled the problem but only junk results came up. I googled the message again in quotes but only results pertaining to Office XP and Windows XP showed up, way too old and outdated to be of any relevance now days.

    Can anybody help me get the ball rolling?

    This is an ASUS T100TA Windows tablet

    cannot save excel in windows 10

    I have used 2013 office & 2016 office preview in Windows 10 preview builds & now Windows 10 Home. Each install necessitates uninstalling office and re-installing it.

    Installed Office 2016 with Windows 10

    I installed Office 2016 today but now when I go to my control panel to delete some old games and programs, it tell me "Another program is being installed" so I have to wait for it to install...I can not find any program that is installing. I did a hard
    restart and tI still get the same message. Office 2016 seems to be installed completely and correctly.
