Windows 10: Office 2016 price vs Office 365 subscription

Hi there

It looks like that a Student and Teacher edition of Office 2016 will be available at around 90 GBP - 105 EUR while an Office 365 subscription will be around 60 GBP - 73 EUR for 1 year. Since the Student edition will work on 3 machines it seems to me the subscription model is bad value compared with Office 2016.

Now there might be a caveat -- not sure if OUTLOOK 2016 is included with Student and Teacher --we'll have to wait and see.

There *Might* also be an Upgrade price from Office 2010 / 2013 too.

Which version of Office was it, Office 2010, 2013, 365?

If it came with the computer, it would likely be a trial version. If it was Office 365, it would only be for 30 days unless you had activated a subscription.

If you had activated a subscription, you can sign into the Office Portal and reinstall it:

Download and install or
reinstall Office 365, Office 2016, or Office ...

Turns out to be conflicts with office pro 2013 vs 365 multi devices.

going to replace with 2016 365 premium where in office apps are installed on all devices, plus 50gb of email allowances and 1 TB cloud storage . 365 personal does not correct spelling correctly on line as a direct app as in 2013. Also collaboration working
in word on line is not stable.

$12.50 monthly for premium with updates is ok, paid full price for 2013 office professional, not to long ago, now outdated

couldn't see any - but I'm sure we'll get the info soon.

5 GBP a month though to me seems a LOT for a HOME user of Office -- for a business user it's different. Ms used to do a Use at Home offer for businesses with Office Enterprise 2007 where it would only cost the home user the cost of the DVD media -- I wonder if those sort of deals are still available.

(I can get SKY Sports for just over that price --seems a better deal !!!).

Typically, in the Home and Student versions of standalone Office, I haven't seen Outlook in them...

Office 365 University, I have seen that included. Last time I check that out, University was like $80 US for three PCs for five years?

 

Did not see anything in the article listing the # of users for the Home & Student version of Office 2016, Currently the Home & Student version of Office 2013 only allows installation on 1 PC.
