    Office 2016, rollout begins September 22nd 2015

Okay, I confess. Until recently I've only used open source software but I really like using the Office 2016 trial. I'll never need the full version (I'm retired) but I presume there will be watered down version similar to Office Home and Student 2013. I think Word & Excel would be all I'd need so if there's no difference or just minor differences, the current Office Home and Student 2013 would do.
Anyone know if there will be an Office Home and Student 2016?

The "personal" version of Office 2016 is for one computer and costs $69.99 per year.

Office Home and Student 2013 is one time pay, not an annual, or monthly subscription like Office 365. Office Home and Student 2013 is $139.95 but can be found discounted at $99.95. I was hoping for a new version of Office Home and Student 2016.

    Office 2016, rollout begins September 22nd 2015

Well, looks like it'll be over pretty soon . . .

Since August 2014, I've participated in Office 365 2016 Technical Preview, but today I got notice that the Preview is ending and as reported earlier, Microsoft Office 2016 will be released on September 22:

    . . . What to expect:

    • Over the next few days, we will begin closing this program on both Connect and Yammer.
    • If you are an active Office 365 subscriber and you have Office 2016 Preview installed as part of this program, you are all set. As valued Preview members, you will continue to receive early Office updates as they arrive.
    • If you have the Trial version of the Preview installed, you will need to either purchase Office 2016 by your trial's end date by clicking on the Buy Now link, OR uninstall the Preview by going to your Control Panel's Programs and Features and selecting Uninstall, then install your licensed version of Office. . .

Guess that about says it all.

I just looked and they don't have it listed, but most likely it'll be Microsoft Office 2016, the same as it's been for the past several years.

Since it's due to be released on September 22 (that's two days from now), you should be able to go to office.microsoft.com and check out the prices there. Office 2013 one time purchase is $139, so I'd expect the 2016 version to be about the same.

    I'm guessing it's 1024, to match 240 for W10

    Office 2016, rollout begins September 22nd 2015

Tomorrow is the day! Microsoft Office 2016 will make its debut to the world tomorrow!

My Technical Preview Network on Yammer closed today . . . well, all except for the Water Cooler and General groups.

So, one more successful Beta/Technical Preview under my belt.
