How to Turn On or Off Single Window Mode in Snip & Sketch app in Windows 10


The Snip & Sketch app included in Windows 10 allows you to quickly annotate screenshots, photos and other images with your pen, touch, or mouse and save, paste or share with other apps.

Do you tend to retake snips multiple times in order to get the perfect screenshot?

Starting with Snip & Sketch version 10.1907.2064.0 and higher, Microsoft is updating the New button to now open new snips in your current app window, so you dont end up with a ton of open snips (that you then need to close). If youd rather keep all snips open in separate windows, the option is now a toggle in settings so you can decide which mode you prefer.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off single window mode in the Snip & Sketch app to open new snips in separate windows or not for your account in Windows 10.

Here's How:

1. Open the Snip & Sketch app.

2. Click/tap on the See more (3 dots) button at the top right, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)



3. Turn on or off (default) Multiple windows for what you want. (see screenshot below)



4. You can now close the Snip & Sketch app if you like.

The new version adds the ability to delay a snip up to 3 or 10 seconds. Under the New menu, you can select to "Snip now", "Snip in 3 seconds", or "Snip in 10 seconds".

you have Notifications for S&S enabled, then, if you've snipped by way of Win+Shift+S, or other, you can then paste it in S&S UI by clicking on the banner...
