Windows 10: Office file keeps being downloaded automatically instead of being opened.

I have 2 users in my organization who keep having this issue with all of the browsers Edge, Chrome, Firefox and when they click on an Office file, Word or Excel, it just automatically downloads and not asking if they want to open it with the Desktop Application. Everyone else who accesses the same files get asked to open it with the Desktop Application, only these 2 specific users. One of the specific users gets this issue only on his desktop computer, if he accessed Sharepoint on his laptop computer, its goodAny advice? Hi Fiona,

We suggest that you follow these steps to uncheck the Always open this type of file:

• Right click on an ABA file.
  
• Hover your mouse cursor on Open with and select Choose another app.
• Uncheck the Always open this type of file and click on
  OK.

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?
