Windows 10: Office Keyboard issue after Win10 update to build 19042.870

My Office Keyboard has stopped working after a Win10 update to build 19042.870. But not completely. All the special keys Word, Excel, Copy, Paste etc. are working as always. Only the letters and numbers stopped working.

When I upgraded to Win10 many years ago, only the special keys would not work until I installed Intellitype 7 again. Then everything was functioning until the last Windows update yesterday. Absolutely weird to have the special keys in working order and the standard keys dead.

I have restarted Win Update with new catroot2 and SoftwareDistribution folders, to no avail. The keyboard hardware works fine on another Win10 computer without the update, so no hardware issues here.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Keyboard issue with Win10 update

I couldn't access the compatibility mode following the directions you gave me. So at this point my laptop sits there's with a multifunctional keyboard. In my first post I didn't mention that I have a Gateway laptop model#NV55 which runs just fine when when
running the Win7 version with the updated keyboard driver it's when I upgrade to Win10 that the keyboard quits working. I did find another compatibility troubleshooter in the community postings but I was unable to specifically tell it to look at the keyboard
issue and when I ran it it said all issues were fixed, still no keyboard. Any other help before I go back to Win7 and stay there and recommend no one go to Win10 because there are to many glitches that haven't been fixed yet?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Keyboard issue with Win10 update

I was never able to install the updated driver using the compatibility mode because the directions I was given to enter the compatibility mode did NOT work as I stated in my previous response.

The issue I am having is with the built-in keyboard on my Gateway model NV55 laptop. This built-in keyboard works fine with Win7; I updated to Win10 it quits working. I've looked over the compatibility lists and Gateway is not listed on there. The incompatibility
hardware scan programs did NOT detect any problems every time the engineers tried running it and every time I ran it. A USB plugin keyboard works fine with the Win10 update on my LAPTOP but I am NOT carrying a KEYBOARD around with me just to use my LAPTOP.
Are you saying that after all this Win10 does NOT WORK ON LAPTOPS??????
