Windows 10: Office products just wont work.

Alright I am running out of options here. I came back from my holidays and all Office products just aren't working. I open any office product and the message "udating powerpoint" pop up in finish. After that the program crashes. I can provide screenshots. I have tried uninstalling the program and downloading it again using my own microsoft account that works. It downloads all my products and then the same updater comes and crashes the product.


So I contacted Microsoft support. They had the idea that I should uninstall the product and download it again. So I uninstall it and download it again. Nothing.


So I get adviced to contact my university's support. I do that and they have a brilliant solution. Perhaps it should work if I remove the program and download it again?.. Against my better knowledge I decide to download it again. Nope.


This pisses me off beyond believe since I really need Word to finish my degree and start writing job applications.

To obtain the product, follow these steps:

Step 2: Go to the Office website by clicking the ‘Get it now’ button.

Step 3: Enter your 25-character product key and continue as directed on the site.

I'm thinking option one is going to be my only option. I'm fine with that as long as I can get Outlook to work with my ISP's pop3 e-mail. Last time I tried that with the new 2016 install I could not get it to work, no way no how. All the same settings that work with the ISO install?

EDIT: I should mention, for me as far as I know, neither of these options are a subscription. They use two different keys but they are perpetual one time activation licenses. I only ran the new download briefly though, as I could not get outlook to work. I bailed and went back to what works.
