Windows 10: Office Word 13's CTRL + [random function character] stops working randomly

Hello,

My CTRL + [random function character] - for example C for copy, S for save etc. stops working randomly on Word 2013.

I have to close all documents and start Word again in order for it to start working again.



Any help?

Ctrl-s stopped working in Office 365 Business

Based on your description, I’d suggest you try the following steps below to check if the problem persists:

1. You can go to Word File > Options > Customize Ribbon > click Customize, as shown below:

Then you can select All Commands > FileSave > Press new shortcut key > click Assign.( The option "Keyboard shortcuts Customization" is on Word.)

2. In this
thread, someone mentioned that Skype application was intercepting the CTRL+S keyboard shortcut, he used a free application called “Windows Hotkey Explorer” to find that
CTRL+S was in fact being intercepted by Skype. For more details, you can refer to advice of Ernieo in this

thread.

3. If the suggestions above don’t work, you can go to
Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > select the Office > right-click and select Change > Online repair.

If the issue persist, in order to help you better, I want to confirm the information below with you:

1. Could you provide the version of your Office> You can go to Word File > Account > Product Information and provide the full screenshot of it.(Please remove your email address)
2. When did the issue occur? What did you set before the issue occurred, such as updating Office?
3. You can check if you can click Save button to save the file.

Ctrl+arrow keys not functioning anymore

Hi,

From one moment to another my ctrl+arrows hotkeys are not working any more.

This holds for:

- the office suite:

* jumping to edges of tables in excel

* jumping words in Word

* slowly move images in Powerpoint (also up and down)

- explorer or notepad

Using ctrl+shift+arrows still works fine, so it is probably not a hardware issue. It seems like a Windows wide issue.

I am running Windows 10 on a Dell XPS 13 9380. I have already tried disabling the Read Aloud function as well as repairing the office suite installation, both without success.

Is there anything else I can try except re-installing Windows?

Microsoft office 2010 stopped working

Check first if you have an additional version of Office that may be causing incompatibility.

Execute the following steps:

1. Right-click the Start button (lower left corner) and choose Control Panel.

2. Select Programs and Features.

3. Check all versions of Microsoft Office and right-click on each one you don't use and then select Uninstall.

You then start Word in safe mode. The application will be loaded with a minimum of add-ins and rule out that any is affecting the operation of Microsoft Word. Please follow the steps below:

1. Right-click the Start button (lower left corner) and choose Run.

2. Type winword / safe and click OK to start Word.

3. Check again if the same failure occurs when modifying the images.

If Word continues to function normally, some of the add-ins are not supported for this version of Office. Complete the following steps to disable them one at a time:

Click File> Options> Plugins.

In the Manage list, click COM Add-ins, and then click Go.

Deactivate one of the listed add-ins and click OK.

Restart the application (this time, don't do it in safe mode).

Check if the add-in you disabled stops closing Word.
