    Offline Account Setup


    I have set up an offline account specifically for use by anyone other than myself whom I might let use my PC. Naturally, there are files, folders, and programs that should not be accessible by anyone other than administrator. I'm pretty happy with the limitations after initiating the offline account. However, there are a few things still accessible that I would like to make not accessible within the account.

    1 There are some functions in the Settings app that are still usable such as the ability to download updates and some tweaks in security.

    2 Some programs I don't want accessed in general are still accessible. During installation of those programs there was no option to "install for all users" or "install only for current user" or "install for administrator only".


    How much granular control can I actually have in establishing what is and is not accessible in non administrator accounts?

    Windows 10 Setup Offline Account

    I just did a 1903 18362.356 Home install and the bogus phone number still works but the words Offline Account are gone, some other words much less obvious are in their place (I forgot to record them). End result is the same and you can setup an Offline Account but it's a bit more garbled.

    Why is the use offline account option during setup no longer available in Windows 10 Home while connected to internet, only in Windows 10 Professional and selecting option Setup for personal use?

    Did it again last night and I was wrong. Offline Account still appears if you give a bogus phone number but the next page is completely non-obvious which button you should push to get a local account.

    Limited Experience is what you need to push for that. Absolutely ridiculous.
