Windows 10: Often BSODs on my MSI computers

Hello, I have 2 identical computers with MSI B450M GAMING PLUS motherboard, 8x2 GB 3000 G.SKILL RAM, Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, but my gaming rig has GTX 1050 and another has GT 9600 (really old one).

My PC has BSOD's like:

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

Other PC has:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

My gaming rig had a problem that my Dell monitor (1920x1080) only went to 1600x900. I had a second display (LG 1920x1080) that worked normally. I finally got into Windows after countless BSODs and removed my graphics card from device manager and removed the driver, and it worked and I shut down the computer.

But day later my computer started beeping at me. 3 beeps, I thought this was a memory issue, but I checked everything else, but it still didn't work.

So I pulled out the RAM and tested it with the other computer.

It was ok.

I put the other computer's ram and it worked. I was really confused so I put back the rams to their pc's and my computer booted up.

(also I did check the RAM slots.)

BSODs are happening now on the other computer all the time. Mine BSODs only like on startup and it was happening before, but that's all.

Now on the other PC every like 2 startups nothing shows on the screen, nothing beeps, but when it finally startups, it crashes in like 1-5 minutes. Sometimes it crashed for no reason.

Once it showed it couldn't find the ntoskrnl.exe.

Code was 0x00003f (i don't remember exactly)

But I had this error couple of times before so like after clicking ENTER 5 times it booted and crashed after 3 minutes.

Also Microsoft Teams after it finally booted (and crashed) showed me ffmpeg missing. After the restart I reinstalled it and it worked.

I ran a Windows memory test on both PC's and showed that nothing is wrong.

I still think that the memory is the issue here.

BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:

• Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
• Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
• After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

BSOD on new computer while gaming

I just got a new computer about a month ago. Everything is new and I get BSOD (windows 10) while gaming mostly although it sometimes happens while I'm just using the computer. Sometimes the computer doesn't BSOD and just gives me a Access Violation Error. Not sure if related.

Steps I have taken:

• Updated all drivers and bios to latest versions

• Checked ram with windows memory test to see if ram is faulty. (A stick was and it was removed waiting for replacement)

• Clean Installed Windows after finding faulty ram

• I had 2 x 2080Ti installed, I removed one, tested and then swapped cards; issue still exist
