    I have been given a new w10 Dell inspirion 15 for my BDAY , in setting it up next to my HP dv4 pavilion which also has W10 , I experienced the following; I immediately received a "launch pod or pad error message" , my old machine then would not open any of my programs and gave me the following message...LAUNCHER ERROR, this item (thunderbird, quicken, picasa,etc whatever I selected, this shortcut being referred to has been moved or changed and will no longer work properly..do you want to delete this short cut ?


    So the result of this is and was that I lost "critical" files, programs and emails/folders.


    I was able to get Quicken to reinstall my version which wouldn't launch after 3 hours with Byron in Guatamala .. ( thanks for that). but I still can't get my windows live 2011 version with all my contacts, photos, and email folders. I tried installing 2012 and seeing if they were all there not. I have done every thing a lay person could do to find my "stuff" which I think must be there somewhere.

    I am 80 and used to be up with technology but can't do this by myself...much appreciative if anyone could help me find my PRIOR FAMILY LIFE.

    One computer cannot access other network computers.


    So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:
    • Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
    • Ran a bunch of network commands:
      • flushed DNS
      • registered dns
      • pinged and located the named computers successfully
    • Reset my router to factory settings

    Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

    Any thoughts?

    I just got a new computer with Windows 10 and successfully set up Windows Live Mail (as that is the mail program I like best). How can I transfer contact list, old mail, etc from my old computer to the new computer.

    Installing Old Hard Derive onto new Computer

    My old computer had a motherboard failure. I took the 1.5 TB Drive out of that computer and installed in a different computer that already had a primary c: drive. Windows recognized the new drive as K: and I can access some data files, pictures, etc.
    However, I cannot access any of the old programs from this hard drive - I need to use a variety of these programs and can't figure out how to get access to them. Any suggestions?
