Windows 10: Old games lag on my new PC

I have a hard time running games pre-dating 2007 over 30 fps. However I can run newer games on a much higher fps. I tried running games in compatibility mode but the lag still persists. The games that I'm trying to play right now is Far Cry 1 and HALO 2

hello, im new here, can u answer why does old game lagging (fps drop) on old laptop

i have downloaded and test many games on my laptop, here is the list:

CS 1.6=max 120fps min 30-20fps,average 60fps (dxd render)

Hot Wheels:Beat that=max 30fps,min 2 fps averge 10fps

Battlefield 1942=max 60fps, min 15 fps, average 30 fps

Terraria=max 42fps min 10 fps, average 20fps

idk why my pc so lagging, this is my spec:

Dual os win 7 and win xp

ram 3gb

intel atom n330 1.6ghz

sis mirage 3 256mb
