Windows 10: Old Gmail routing settings to be automatically converted July 11th

In January 2017, we announced some changes to the Gmail routing settings in the Admin console. For technical reasons, some of these changes were delayed past the originally communicated date and are now launching this month.

Convert old Gmail routing settings now

Going forward, your remaining Sending routing, Receiving routing, Catch-all address, and Domain-level routing settings are read-only. These settings are still active, but in order to make changes, you need to click the CONVERT button next to the existing rule.

Once you click CONVERT, we’ll convert the setting and map it to the new fields automatically. The converted setting will then be placed in the unified routing section, where all of your rules will be manageable from one place. The old setting will no longer be visible in the user interface, so you won’t need to clean up old rules afterward.

All settings automatically migrated starting July 11th

If you don’t convert your settings using the CONVERT button, they’ll be automatically migrated to the unified routing section no earlier than July 11th, 2018. This migration will take place over the course of several weeks.

Introducing Google Gmail Labs

Google is inviting Gmail users in the US and UK to participate in the testing of Gmail Labs. Launched today, the latest Google service brings a list of experimental new features that will eventually become part of Gmail. Gmail Labs is available now through the Settings/Labs page of your Gmail box.

The result of this loosely-directed chaos is 13 Labs features, with more on the way. Some of them we've found really useful, like Quick Links, which lets you save searches and any other views in Gmail. Kai and Julie wrote Superstars, which gives you different types of stars. Dave wrote Old Snakey, which lets you play an old school style computer game when you press "&". I'm just going to go out and say it: Old Snakey is probably a bad idea. But Dave wanted to do it, so Dave did it and anyone who uses Gmail can use it. And now you can help decide whether it's a good idea. That's the kind of thing that makes a project fun to work on.

Resolution Suggestion:

# To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
