Wife's computer just had this pop up, locked up her computer. I did a control/alt/delete and shut the computer down....now, it wont restart. The power button when pushed does nothing. Anything I can do to fix this?BR

I'm getting "y computer has been locked up. My IP address has been used to visit web sites that contain identity theft virus. Call support tb833-784-7766

 

My computer is locked up for security reasons.

My computer is giving me an important security message. This is the message. Message your computer has been locked up your IP address was used without your knowledge it contains identity theft virus to unlock the computer please call support immediately please do not attempt to shut down or restart your computer doing that may lead to data loss in identity theft.

Thanks for the images, they help a lot! I’d suggest that these popups are malware and as you said, an attempt at identity theft. You’ve done well to not enter your username and password.

Try running scans with the below apps to remove the malware, and the popups should go away:
