    So I just replaced the hard drive of my MSI laptop because of constant disk drive errors. I got it back today and it's basically factory calibrated. In other words, the current windows version in the laptop is 1809. Now, I'm not able to access my microsoft account. When I type in my microsoft password, it's asking for my old windows password which I have no clue what is. I typed in my current windows password but it doesn't work. I don't know what to do here. My pc was in windows 2004 version when I gave it for repairs and now it's 1809. What should I do here? Please help. Will upgrading the windows version via media creation tool iso help? I saw something like that in the microsoft community forum.

    admin password?

    You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

    Thanks for your quick response. But my problem is that M.S. says old password con not be used. I want to switch back to my old password. I think I need to contact M.S. to clear the registry for my passwords. Then, I will be able to switch back.
