Windows 10: On a Geekon MiniIT 8 can't get second monitor to display without restarting.

I have updated the drivers, replaced cables and all but the only way both screens work is if I restart the PC with only the one monitor that isn't working plugged in. This unit has 1 HDMI this is the one that won't come on and 1 Mini Display. If one monitor is up I can swap the monitors and as long as it is in the Mini Display it will come on. But nothing will come on if on the HDMI is plugged in. I am having to leave the Mini Display unplugged then restart, after booting I can plug the Mini Display back in and everything will be normal,.

I apologize for not addressing you in a timely manner. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

If you are facing any issues with the graphic drivers. I suggest you to download the drivers from the computer manufacture's website for Windows 10, if not available.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

• a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
• c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
• d. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Windows 10 Not Detecting Second Monitor

I suggest you to follow these methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Update display adapter driver.



Step 1: Check for the latest driver update through Windows Updates.

• At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
• Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results.
• When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.

Incompatible or not properly installed graphics card drivers are the most common cause of this issue.



Step 2: Follow the steps below to update the display drivers.

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Go to device manager.
• Right-click your display/graphic & video device.
• Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.

Restart the computer and check.

If the issue persists, follow method 2.



Method 2: Check in compatibility mode.



Download the display drivers from the Manufacture and follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.

c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

d. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

I would suggest you to download the display driver from the manufacturer's website. If there are no driver for windows 10, download the latest driver and install it in compatibility mode by following the steps below:

After you have downloaded the driver:



a) Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select "Properties".

b) Select "Compatibility" Tab.

c) Place a check mark next to "Run this program in Compatibility mode" and select the

appropriate operating system from the drop down list.

d) Let the driver install and then check the functionality
