I have got exactly the same issue - it seems to be related to browsers. I have looked through all settings, services, task schedules etc, and no way it seems to stop this annoying feature.

On another forum, there was a discussion, and apparently this was a new feature mentioned in a blog a while back.

Stupid Microsoft, why they did this feature not tweakable, i don't want bring all trash from previous session come in new session, i have over 20 opened programs when i work and closing all of this take a time, i just want press restart / shutdown button and start new clear session with fresh mind.

Well, I have a old habit of close every thing down, I have open up during the session, so that will fix it for me.

This should definitely be a user choice!

If we want that function we use hibernation!

Both of my computers and my friend's computer do this. This is a potentially huge privacy risk especially if you deal with confidential documents. Does common sense not occur to Microsoft or anything? Who was it that was mentally deficient enough to allow this feature to make it into Windows?

  10. If a W10 PC has some dodgy software that causes a Shutdown, won't this lead to endless Shutdown loops?

Hypothetically: "My PC shuts down, I restart it, it shuts down, I restart it, etc.".

I suppose that the end result is the same as a BSOD caused by a dodgy driver.

Try booting to Safe Mode. If you can, that might show it's dodgy software.

Haha that's good! Anywho I've opened a case with Microsoft on the matter. I figure that the more I bug them about it then just maaaaybe someone will make a fix for this.

A switch to turn it off would be nice. Even Apple allows that *Smile
