Windows 10: on power up my start key shows all the icons an the left side of my screen

Discus and support on power up my start key shows all the icons an the left side of my screen in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; the only way to cancel an spp is to hit the start key and then it is attached to my task bar.     on power up my start key shows all the icons an the left side of my screen


    the only way to cancel an spp is to hit the start key and then it is attached to my task bar. I have right click to remove from task bar

    Hi Jane,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

    • Have you installed graphics drivers?
    • From when are you facing this issue?
    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    Hardware Troubleshoot

    Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with power. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Power.

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
    • Run the Power troubleshooter.


    And also install all the latest drivers (Graphic) from the manufacturer web site.

    Left Click does nothing on start button


    I was having the same problem. Of the five steps you list I tried the third. By going to Full Screen ON and then back to OFF, The menu came up fine when I left clicked. Thanks!

    Left click start menu makes desktop icon disappear.


    A customer brought me a machine with an issue I have never seen before. All desktop icons were gone and the only thing on the desktop is 3 lines in the upper left (opens an empty start menu), 3 lines in the lower left (opens all programs list) and the power button above that. I have managed to bring the desktop icons back but when I click the start menu it switches from the desktop with icons to the above mentioned screen with no icons. When it is on this new screen you can't right click on anything. A new user works as it should. The customer has no idea what they clicked on. Is there someway to rest any customization's they have done?
