On Reboot, have to start over, as though is a new machine

Ever since a recent update to Windows 10, every time I reboot, am told "welcome to new Windows", and I have to start over with the Task Bar...and, have to bring programs back to life. Start menu also has to be totally rebuilt.

For example, my Kindle Reader vanishes... have to go back and download it again.

Chrome Browser with the Synch has to be revived, log in, and start Synch again.

Adobe Pro acts like it has never been opened before.

Had to re-enter the Product Code for Math Type associated with Word,

Word, Excel, Powerpoint all vanish from the Task Bar, and, when I open them for the first time, they act like they have just been downloaded, never used before.
Have to go deep into Users within the Hardrive to get back to all my Documents.
Google Drive vanishes from the Start Screen.. have to log back into Google Drive to get access to my files.
Etc, Etc... it is though I am just setting up the Machine for the first time, everytime I reboot the machine.

This is getting old... happened over half dozen times in the last month or so, since the Windows 10 updates have been coming down. Only solution so far: Never shut the machine down... leave it in "Sleep" mode over night, etc.

    :)

Windows 10 - cannot add exec to Startup in Task Manager

I purchased a new computer with Windows 10 already installed. I am trying to add an exec to the startup list but Win10 will not accept it. The exec runs successfully on my Windows 10 machine if I start it manually.

Steps I've taken: Task Manager, Startup Tab, File>Run New Task. (browse to location, select.) It will start immediately, but does not show up on the list to autostart, nor does it start on reboot.

    Any suggestions?

Machines Fail to Start and Initialize

OK in this case the additional info in the error message really does not reveal anything.

Do you store the virtual hard disks and configuration files on default places? VHD files in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual Hard Disks, and the configuration files in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V? If so you could try this and tell if you could create and run a vm:

    • Create a folder Hyper-V on root of any drive than C:
    • On that folder create a subfolder, name it as VHD, and another with a name VM
    • Create a new VM
    • In New Virtual Machine Wizard, step Specify name and location, select Store the virtual machine in a different location, browse to the Hyper-V\VM folder you created and select it as the location
    • In New Virtual Machine Wizard, step Connect Virtual Hard Disk, click the Browse button next to Location, browse to the Hyper-V\VHD folder you created and select it
    • Finish the setup, launch the vm

On Reboot, have to start over, as though is a new machine

Machines Fail to Start and Initialize

I followed the instructions precisely. Checking the Event Log it shows that the VM was created successfully.
I get the exact same error detail for the new machine as I posted earlier.
