    On screen keyboard disappearing after first letter


    Hi all,

    I have the exact same problem as listed below. Microsoft elected not to assist the customer below because he stated he has a Lenovo laptop, thus even though its clearly a problem with the garbage Microsoft OS. The only difference for me is I am experiencing the problem on a Microsoft Surface tablet, so I have a garbage OS made by Microsoft with a vastly more garbage computer attempting to drive it. The Surface is 1 week old, so let's not advise reimaging.

    My on screen keyboard disappears most of the time after 1st letter typed, very annoying. It works sometimes when I quickly type the same letter twice.

    On screen keyboard disappearing after first letter

    Hi,

    My on screen keyboard disappears most of the time after 1st letter typed, very annoying. It works sometimes when I quickly type the same letter twice.

    I have no clue what to do to solve this problem. I work with Windows on a two-in -one mini laptop/tablet Lenovo Ideapad MiiX 310.

    On-screen keyboard disappears after first keystroke in Google search

    In my brand new HP 2-in1 laptop, when using it as a tablet, the virtual keyboard disappears in Google Chrome when typing the first letter in the Google search text slot in the middle of the page. The focus moves into the address bar at the top, and I have
    to tap it to get the virtual keyboard back. If the search bar contains a search suggestion from earlier searches, I need to remove the text string first - very inconvenient!

    This is clearly a bug, and it seems to have been a problem for many in the past.

    Keyboard letters problem

    Here are the first two steps you need to take:

    • Try a different keyboard (or an external USB keyboard in case of a laptop)
    • See if the problem persists with the on-screen keyboard (osk.exe)
