Windows 10: On-Screen Keyboard Help

This only pertains to my work computer since I do not use a multi-monitor set up at home and I don't know if this issue is related to a software change or if it is some kind of setting that I inadvertently changed.Previously, I would be able to open the on-screen keyboard and dock it to my left monitor or anywhere for that matter and just use my trusty trackball mouse and the on-screen keyboard for, literally, one-handed movement for some mundane repetitive tasks. The problem is that now the on-screen keyboard jumps between monitors and yes I know it is meant to travel to the active window

I suggest that you run the automatic troubleshooter to diagnose and fix issues that you can encounter with your On-Screen Keyboard. Do the following steps, please:

Start menu -choose Settings (the gear icon)

Select Update & Security, and then select Troubleshoot.

Find Keyboard on the list.

Click on it, and click the ‘Run the troubleshooter’ button.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)
  
• 
  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Are you referring to on screen Keyboard icon on the taskbar?

I would like to inform you that if you want on screen keyboard icon the taskbar you need to pin the program to taskbar.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

• Below click on the search icon and type on screen keyboard
  and hit Enter.
• On the top the Window it will on screen keyboard will appear.
• Right click on the on screen keyboard and select
  pin this program to taskbar.
