    It's really annoying. How do I stop that from happening as I'm trying to log onto my account?

    The On-Screen Keyboard Keeps Opening in Login Screen

    Hello, the problem is as the title states: the On-Screen Keyboard always opens itself when I go to login.

    Things I have done to stop this from happening:

    • Turned off on-screen keyboard in settings
    • Turned off on-screen keyboard in Control Panels
    • Turned off osk.exe in Task Manager start-up
    • Set startup type of Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service to Disabled
    • DELETED osk.exe (I still have a back-up copy of it on an external HD)

    None of that helped, the keyboard still pops up when I open the the login screen.

    Touch keyboard pops up at login

    Hi Mon,

    The on-screen keyboard pops up on the login screen if the Use On-Screen Keyboard
    option is enabled. For us to disable this option, please follow these steps:

    • Click on Start.
    • Type Ease of Access Center, and then press Enter.
    • Click on the Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard link.
    • Under Type using a pointing device option, uncheck the
      Use On-Screen Keyboard       box.

    Let us know if the steps above helped you to resolve your concern.

    How to hide on-screen keyboard on the login screen


    I have disabled the on-screen keyboard in Settings. However, it still pops up when I go to the login screen after turning on my laptop. How can I prevent it from coming up on the login screen?
