Windows 10: On Screen Keyboard pops up all the time after I turn it off

    On Screen Keyboard pops up all the time after I turn it off


    I recently moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (finally right?). One consistent problem that I don't understand is that the "Ease of Access On Screen Keyboard" randomly pops up a lot.

    I always put my computer to sleep at night. In the morning I click to login again, and there is the on screen keyboard. I close it. Then I log in. Boom, on screen keyboard pops up again. I close it.

    I open the Registry Editor. On Screen Keyboard Pops up. I close it. Various other random things that I open, the on screen keyboard pops up and I have to close it.

    I really just don't understand this. Why is it popping up on it's own? What is triggering this? I have looked through the Ease of Access Keyboard Settings. It is definitely marked as OFF. And no, I am not accidentally hitting a hotkey combo to bring it up.

    Is this a bug? What am I misunderstanding here?

    Touch keyboard pops up at login

    Hi Mon,

    The on-screen keyboard pops up on the login screen if the Use On-Screen Keyboard
    option is enabled. For us to disable this option, please follow these steps:

    • Click on Start.
    • Type Ease of Access Center, and then press Enter.
    • Click on the Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard link.
    • Under Type using a pointing device option, uncheck the
      Use On-Screen Keyboard       box.

    Hi,

    To assist you better, I would like to know the current build installed on the computer and the troubleshooting step that you had already performed.

    As an initial troubleshooting step, try to turn off the OSK by following the below steps:

    • Select “Start” and select “Settings“.
    • Choose “Ease of Access“.
    • Select “Keyboard“.
    • Set “On-Screen Keyboard” to “On” or “Off” as desired.
    If the issue still persists, I suggest you to download and install any pending updates that needs to be installed on the computer through Windows update and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
