I don't know if it's an update that changed things or I'm slow to find quirks but when I adjust the volume via keyboard the onscreen volume shows up on the top left... it then blocks out a part of the screen I have to click. I can't click behind it, the pop up is slow to go away, and is big.

I can't find anywhere online to disable it or change the timing of it, or location of it other than a solution that involves going into the system and disabling it in a manner the developers obviously didn't want.

Mac has the same feature, the volume is in the middle of the screen (which would seem annoying but isn't), and it just shows up and goes away. I'm not at all AWARE of its presence other than the information it gave me. The windows 10, the pop up gets in my way and I lose my train of thought.

    Very annoying pop-up

I keep seeing this very annoying pop-up but cannot work out how to stop it. It often pops up in Wordpad or Word, and in other places too.

It looks as if it is for people to write on with a tablet pen and Windows then interprets the handwriting to produce text, so should be in Ease of Access, but I cannot see where the option to kill it resides.

I hope someone can suggest a solution before I throw something at the screen.

    Annoying big volume pop-up

    Hello,

I have been searching for hours and I got so frustrated, this came up out of nowhere, yesterday was all good now when I change the volume this big annoying pop-up shows and it covers my screen and it is just useless. I don't mind the smaller pop-up that shows
the volume level but how can I disable the bigger pop-up right of the volume level?

    Thanks.

    Annoying big volume pop-up

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand how annoying it can be when you get the Volume bar banner, while playing music/video on Google Chrome.
To have a clarity on this issue, we need some information.

    • Was there a major change or an update on your system, prior to which you weren't facing this issue?
    • Do you receive the same popup when you play music/videos on Edge or Internet Explorer?
    • Do you have any extensions enabled in Google Chrome for playing music?
    • Which version of Google Chrome are you using?

However, we suggest you to try this steps and check if you are able to get rid of the banner.

    1. Press Windows + I key from the keyboard to open
      Settings.
    2. Then click on Systems. Then select
Notifications & actions from the left pane.
    3. Then under Get notifications from these senders, toggle the switch for
Audio to disable the Banner and Sound notifications.
    4. Close all the browser and reopen Google Chrome, to play some
      music/videos.
    5. Check if you get the Volume bar banner back.

As an additional information, please refer the
Change notification settings in Windows 10
    article.

    We await your response.
