On the EDGE of a dilemma

The recent update for new EDGE did not update it. Instead (for the second time) it has wiped it out, first signalled by its Desktop icon vanishing. At first I tried to find it on my Tablet PC using a variety of Search engines and launchers, including Power Toys, Wox, Everything. All they found were loads of files for ancient Edge which I can still run ---- surprising and annoying since as I had instructed Windows to uninstall it a while after seeing my new Edge metamorphosing back to ancient Edge before my eyes {another thread).

I have had to use another browser to access Ten Forums (so I am giving the new CC Browser 'a try' now, and to re-install new Edge. When I tried to download it again both directly from a web search and then from this site, at first I had no success. The suggestion from MS to 'give it a try' was in vain. In order to get it back I have had to install the Beta version from here. It first sight it is OK, except that again (it happened before) I have lost everything I have done with it: my Collections, SetAside Tabs, Fovourites, Extensions. Last time something like this happened I did get them back after syncing had taken effect.

Should I stick with Beta for the time being? I don't normally risk Beta apps. Perhaps update will work on it correctly now? And should I try to eliminate / exorcise all the many ancient Edge files again, as I tried to do before, to stop them haunting my computer?

    :)
