Windows 10: on Windows 10 -- had a sudden change in display

I am uncertain what happened. I was on in mid-afternoon and everything was as it usually has been.


I came back after dinner and found numerous changes in my display ... font was smaller, colors on Background photo were off, colors on menu bar had changed,


I tried to find a way to see the history of changes to discover what had changed ... and could not find it. If there is such a log, please let me know.


I then tried to recreate elements of display, experimenting to shift font, display colors, and move from the original background photo to another I know well to see how colors were affected. I was able to make some changes, but not get fully back to what I had.


If possible to get settings backed up a day, that would be great. Otherwise, I guess I will set to defaults and begin to reconstruct my preferences.

Display orientation has changed in Windows 10.

I would like to inform you that this issue might arise due to the change in the orientation settings in Windows 10 Operating system. We will assist you to resolve the issue.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if that helps to resolve the issue.

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Display.
• Select Display settings from the list of results.
• Now choose an orientation to landscape and check if that helps.

Or you may try resizing the windows by pressing
CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
